Veterinarian jailed for murder of ex-girlfriend: Steven Perian KC led Daniel Wright for the Crown
Alberto Fioletti, 31, of Fordingbridge, stabbed his former girlfriend, Stephanie Hodgkinson, 34, at least seven times in the chest with a large kitchen knife at her flat in Bournemouth in May 2023.
Fioletti then stabbed himself and spent 12 days in hospital, telling a psychiatrist the incident was the “worst anger” he had ever experienced.
Fioletti pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility but was convicted of murder following a four week trial. Her Honour Judge Susan Evans KC yesterday jailed him for life with a minimum of 15 years.
Ms Hodgkinson was a mother to two young children. Her family described her as “the most beautiful and remarkable young woman”.
