R-v- XX – Worcester Crown Court. Grace Ong, leading Steven Molloy, prosecuted a serving police officer for raping his estranged wife on 2 occasions

The defendant was found guilty after a trial and sentenced today to 12 years’ imprisonment. The judge found that a significant aggravating factor was the fact that D was a police officer and stated, “when a police officer commits a crime whether in public or in private it damages the trust the public should place in the police”.
