Maurice Jones, 25, fatally stabbed Tsvetomir Genov in August 2023 after confronting him in the street where he lived, whilst Mr Genov pushed his infant son in a buggy.  Jones attacked him and stabbed him several times, and Mr Genov died at the scene.

Jones claimed he had the knife for his own protection and said he’d used it out of fear.  His claims were dismissed by the jury at Salisbury Crown Court who found him guilty of murder and possession of a bladed article.

His Honour Judge Timothy Mousley K.C. today sentenced the defendant to life imprisonment with a 30 year minimum term.  Barry McElduff and Rob Harding were instructed by Samantha Lawrence, CPS Wessex.
