Jelani Omar is sentenced to life imprisonment for murder, with a minimum term of 22 years – Russell Pyne led Daniel Wright for the Crown
Russell Pyne led Daniel Wright in successfully securing convictions in a case that involved the death of Bereket Selomun. Jelani Omar was convicted of murder, Melake Fiseha and Natneal Hagdu were convicted of manslaughter for their involvement in Mr Selomun’s death. A fourth defendant, Robel MsGane was convicted of assisting an offender.
All defendants were sentenced on 22nd March with Mr Omar receiving a life sentence with a minimum term of 22 years.
