Convictions for the gang rape of a 13 year old girl – Marion Smullen leads Adrian Fleming for the Crown
Following a three week trial at Southwark Crown Court where Marion Smullen led Adrian Fleming , Paul Maxwell, Kayon Bhola and Jeremiah Jackson were found guilty of rape. Paul Maxwell was found guilty of a second rape on the same young girl.
In the early hours of October 1 2023 the three defendants came across a vulnerable 13 year old girl who was by herself at Hammersmith tube station. They targeted the young girl and persuaded her to go back to Paul Maxwell’s flat. Once there they gave her alcohol and she passed out. She woke up to find herself being raped by the three men. Paul Maxwell raped her for a second time after the other two defendants had left. All three defendants denied they were involved and insisted other people had committed the rapes. The case was a difficult one for a number of reasons including dealing with complex DNA evidence.
All three will be sentenced on October 11 2024.
