Steven Perian KC Publishes Article on Third-Party Funding in Malaysian Arbitration
Steven Perian KC has authored an article published in the Current Law Journal (December 2025 issue) examining Malaysia’s new statutory regime for third-party funding in arbitration.
The article analyses the Arbitration (Amendment) Act 2024 , now in force, and its interaction with the AIAC Arbitration Rules 2026, including the abolition of maintenance and champerty, disclosure obligations, and the regulation of funders. It also provides a comparative analysis with developments in England and Wales.
