Psychiatric nurse jailed for sex with patient – Rebecca Austin led Jackalyn Chan for the Crown
Adam Culverwell, 53, from Yeovil, was sentenced to seven years in prison for ten counts of sexual activity with a person with a mental disorder by a care worker and one count of inciting sexual activity with a person with a mental disorder by a care worker.
The defendant was a psychiatric nurse at the time of the offences and the victim was under his care from September 2016 through to December 2020.
Det Con Riley, of Dorset Police, said Culverwell was “in charge of managing the victim’s complex mental health conditions” and that they were a “vulnerable individual”.
