Operation Tempest: sentencing of key nominals – Barry McElduff led for the Crown
Operation Tempest was a South East Regional Organised Crime Unit [SEROCU] investigation into the criminality of an OCG based in the Slough/Hayes/Uxbridge areas that were involved in the importation of multi kilogram deals of cocaine, the wholesale distribution of cocaine, heroin and cannabis as well as the operation of a local drugs line supplying cocaine and cannabis.
9 individuals were charged with involvement in the OCG’s drug supplying activity.
6 of the named individuals pleaded guilty in the lead up to trial; 3 members of the OCG contested the matter to trial asserting that they were not knowingly involved in criminality.
The jury rejected those defences and convicted all 3 members of the OCG.
Sentencing has now taken place of all bar 1 of the 9 convicted defendants.
Barry McElduff was instructed by Charles White from Thames Valley Complex Casework Unit to prosecute the case.
