September 17, 2025

Jason JONES (50) was convicted by a jury at Birmingham Crown Court of orally raping a vulnerable autistic 15 year old boy after luring him out of from Birmingham City Centre and promising to buy him drugs.

Following the Guilty verdict after a six day trial that concluded on 14th April 2025, JONES was sentenced on 11th September 2025.

The Court heard that JONES had previously been convicted of other sexual offences against children, some of which were committed when he was a youth.

JONES denied raping the boy, stating that he had believed the victim was 17 years of age and that all sexual contact with him had been consensual. In finding JONES Guilty, the jury rejected his account.

Sentencing JONES, Her Honour Judge Kubik KC made a finding that the defendant was ‘dangerous’ and noted that he told his probation officer that he had been wrongly convicted on this occasion and all previous occasions when he had been accused of committing sexual offences against children.

JONES was sentenced him to a 13 year Extended Sentence of Imprisonment, comprising a 10 year custodial period and a three year extended licence. He was also placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life and made the subject of an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
