Overview
Katherine joined Chambers as a tenant in July 2026 after completing pupillage at 12CP.
After studying International Business and Business Law at an undergraduate level, Katherine undertook her Graduate Diploma in Law in 2020. She completed the Bar Training Course at BPP University alongside a Master of Laws in 2021.
Katherine prosecutes for the Crown and defends clients in the Magistrates’, Youth, and Crown Courts across the South Eastern and Western Circuits.
Prior to pupillage, Katherine appeared in over 900 civil cases as a County Court advocate for LPC Law and Quest Legal Advocates. She received instructions in contractual disputes, debt recovery, personal injury and housing. Katherine has also worked as a paralegal and legal assistant, where she reviewed and drafted contracts.
Before coming to the Bar, Katherine trained as a competitive ice skater in her native USA. She competed in the National Solo Dance Series and was awarded two gold medals by the United States Figure Skating Association.
Outside of law, Katherine enjoys spending her free time baking, crafting, travelling, and of course, ice skating.
Crime
- The Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police v JD [2026] – Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court
Successfully represented the police in an application for a Violent Offender Order.
- R (DVSA) v AS [2026] – Southampton Crown Court
Prosecuted a committal for sentence, in which the defendant attempted to fraudulently obtain a driving qualification. The defendant was given a suspended sentence of eighteen months’ imprisonment.
- R v DH [2025] – Portsmouth Crown Court
Defended a client charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs. Katherine successfully mitigated, securing a suspended sentence of two years’ imprisonment where the starting point was four years six months’ imprisonment.
- R v SD [2025] – Aldershot Youth Court
Defended a client charged with twenty-one offences including assault and criminal damage. Successfully persuaded the Crown to discontinue or offer no evidence in relation to seventeen offences. The client pleaded guilty to four offences and was sentenced to a five-month Referral Order.
