Overview

Jackalyn specialises in Crime and has a busy practice, both Prosecuting and Defending across London and on the South Eastern and Western Circuits.

Jackalyn is a Grade 2 Prosecutor and has been instructed as a Led Junior. Jackalyn was led in the prosecution of a care worker involved in sexual activity with a person with a mental disorder. Since joining 2 King’s Bench Walk, Jackalyn has built a busy prosecution practice across a wide range of matters including drugs, violence, sexual offences and dishonesty offences.

Jackalyn is regularly instructed to defend in the Crown Court. Jackalyn has been instructed to represent defendants charged with serious drug and violent offences, including a 6-day Section 18 GBH multi-handed trial representing a 24-year-old defendant. Jackalyn also represented a 27-year-old defendant and was commended by the instructing solicitor for her “excellent professionalism and empathy throughout”. Jackalyn continues to build her defence practice, with a sharp eye for detail and exceptional client care.

Jackalyn was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 2023. Upon successful completion of pupillage at 2 King’s Bench Walk, Jackalyn secured tenancy in October 2024.

Jackalyn is currently a member of the Criminal Bar Association’s Equality & Diversity Sub-Committee.

R v D – Stafford Crown Court – 2025 – Led by John Lloyd- Richards

Prosecution Junior in a Conspiracy to supply Class A drugs case. Defendant received sentence of 5 years’ 7 months imprisonment.

  • R v C – Bournemouth Crown Court – Trial (2025) – Led by Rebecca Austin

Prosecution Junior in relation to a care worker involved in sexual activity with a person with a mental disorder. The Defendant received a sentence of seven years’ imprisonment.

Prosecution offer no evidence in PWITS case following Modern Slavery Defence – 2026

Jackalyn represented a vulnerable defendant charged with possessing a controlled drug of Class A with intent to supply. Following service of Defence Statement and careful case preparation, the Crown subsequently offered no evidence, allowing the defendant to maintain his good character.

R v W – Salisbury Crown Court – Trial (2025)

Prosecuted a Defendant charged with a count of exposure. Defendant was convicted.

R v G – Portsmouth Crown Court – Trial (2025)

Prosecuted a Defendant charged with 2 counts of Breach of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Defendant was convicted.

R v A – Harrow Crown Court – Appeal against Conviction (2025)

Prosecuted a Dangerous Dog case, concerning 6 offences. The Appellant was represented by a King’s Counsel. Following a 2-day appeal, the Appeal against Conviction was dismissed. Case was nationally reported.

  • R v A – Wood Green Crown Court – Trial (2025)

Prosecuted a Defendant charged with 2 counts of Robbery involving the theft of mobile phones of two 14-year-olds. The case centred upon identification evidence which was the subject of legal argument in relation to admissibility of significant aspects of evidence. After a 5-day trial, the Defendant was unanimously convicted of both counts.

  • R v D – Kingston Crown Court – Trial (2024)

Prosecuted a 4-day trial of a Defendant charged with 2 counts of assault. The Defendant was represented by a King’s Counsel and ran self-defence. Jackalyn relied on CCTV to cross-examine the Defendant as to his actions that night.

  • R v F – Inner London Crown Court – Trial (2024)

Following a 2-day trial, the Defendant was unanimously convicted of Racially aggravated fear or provocation of violence. Jackalyn prosecuted.

  • R v S – Cambridge Crown Court – Appeal against Conviction (2024)

Prosecuted a 2-day Appeal of a Retired Professional Golfer, charged with Assault by beating. Appeal was dismissed.

  • R v P – Inner London Crown Court – Trial (2024)

Following a 3-day trial, the Defendant was unanimously convicted of stealing multiple cash donations whilst working as a volunteer at a charity stall. Jackalyn prosecuted.

  • R v H – Cambridge Crown Court – Trial (2024)

Prosecuted a Defendant charged with Conveying a List A article into a prison. He ran the defence of duress. Following a 3-day trial, the Defendant was unanimously convicted.

  • R v E – Wood Green Crown Court – Sentence (2024)

Represented a Defendant charged with Dwelling Burglary of £50,000, Jackalyn persuaded Court to impose a Suspended Sentence.

  • R v W – Southwark Crown Court – Appeal against Conviction (2024)

Prosecuted an Appeal of a Defendant charged with Racially aggravated intentional harassment and Assault by beating. Appeal was dismissed.

  • R v V – Inner London Crown Court – Appeal against Conviction (2024)

Prosecuted an Appeal of a Police Officer, charged with activating the emergency equipment on a train. Appeal was dismissed.
