Zeeshan Raza appears in the Court of Appeal lead case on deprivation of citizenship
The Court of Appeal is to hear lead appeal on correct approach to deprivation of citizenship in cases concerning s.40(3) of the BNA 1981, post the Supreme Court’s judgement in Begum, R. (on the application of) v Special Immigration Appeals Commission & Anor [2021] UKSC 7. Appeal to be heard across 3rd & 4th December 2024. The appeal, at this stage, represents a significant shift from post Begum jurisprudence, with the SSHD agreeing with the Appellant’s argument that the Tribunal does in in fact have a fact-finding jurisdiction.
