2 KBW Chambers are very saddened to pass on the tragic news of the death of Robert Bolton, in a diving accident. He was 63, and on holiday in Bali.
Many members of 2 KBW chambers knew Robert well. He was a tenant with us from 1990 until the end of 2016, when he left to pursue a career in financial planning. He was always in demand, specialising in criminal defence, and particularly regularly briefed by Talbot Walker, solicitors then based in Basingstoke and Andover.
After leaving chambers he remained close to 2 KBW, acting as a financial adviser to us when we set up 3 Guildhall Walk ten years ago. He was unsurprisingly trusted by several members of chambers to be their own personal financial adviser.
It is tragically ironic that a man who did so much to help others plan for their retirements should have his own life cut short so prematurely.
Robert always went out of his way to give Members of Chambers help and advice on a variety of issues both legal and financial, particularly regarding 3GW; and was always excellent company.
We will forward our condolences to his widow Michelle, and two sons.
