The Western Circuit Butterfield Scholarship
We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the Western Circuit Butterfield Scholarship for 2016.
The scholarship allows us to fund an additional pupillage in Chambers which will commence in October 2016.
The Butterfield Scholarship was founded by the Western Circuit in honour of The Hon Sir Neil Butterfield. Sir Neil had been a member of the Circuit since 1966 and was the Leader of the Western Circuit from 1992 to 1995. He became a High Court Judge in 1995 (QBD), he was the Presiding Judge of the Western Circuit between 1997 and 2000, and retired in 2012.
The Scholarship is in memory of Sir Neil’s son, Sam, who was a barrister at Albion Chambers in Bristol and who passed away in 2008.
