Fern Russell secures acquittal in attempted murder trial

Fern Russell was instructed by Jacobs and Reeves Solicitors of Poole for the defence in a trial listed before Mr Justice Parker at Winchester Crown Court.

She conducted the defence of a woman accused of the attempted murder of her former partner. The accused had evicerated the man in the street with a kitchen knife but asserted self-defence. On day three of the trial the prosecution announced that they would not continue as the complainant could no longer be said to be reliable. Not guilty verdicts were returned on all counts.
