Virginia Gentile-Costella – Pupil

Call: 2026

Overview

Virginia was called to the Bar in 2026, having achieved a Distinction on the Barrister Training Course. She was supported by a Lord Denning Scholarship, a Major Award from the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn.

Prior to the Bar Course, Virginia studied Law at the University of Liverpool, graduating with first-class honours. She subsequently completed an LLM at University College London, where her studies included jurisprudence, access to justice and research into surrogacy law. Before pursuing law, Virginia attended a specialist drama school in London, where she developed a strong foundation in performance.

Prior to commencing pupillage, Virginia worked as a paralegal at a North London solicitors’ firm, assisting the principal solicitor with a range of private children and divorce matters. Alongside her studies, she mentored male ex-offenders, supporting them with resettlement, and volunteered as a legal adviser with Coram’s Child Law Advice Service, providing advice on public and private children law matters.

Virginia began her pupillage in October 2026 under the supervision of Natalie Wood and will begin accepting instructions in April 2027.
