Overview
Upon successful completion of pupillage, Jack joined Chambers as a tenant in 2024. He is a Grade 2 prosecutor who enjoys a busy practice in London and on the South-eastern and Western circuits.
Jack has amassed a significant volume and variety of experience since he began receiving instructions in April 2024, both prosecuting and defending in the Crown Court, Magistrates’ Court, and Youth Court. He has been commended for his ‘devastating’ cross-examination and for his courtroom manner. With an artistic background, Jack has a meticulous eye for detail and approaches cases through this lens.
Crime
– R v GO [2025], Isleworth Crown Court
Prosecuted an ABH trial where the offence was committed in 2020. The Defendant (who was unrepresented) had repeatedly failed to attend court – out of 27 hearings, he had attended only 2. The Crown was granted leave to try him in his absence, relying on CCTV and the oral evidence of the complainant.
– R v PB [2025], Isleworth Crown Court
Prosecuted a 5-day trial of a single count of assault by beating in the Crown Court. The Defendant was a litigant in person.
– R v NS [2024], Salisbury Crown Court
Prosecuted a 3-day trial for ABH and theft. The Defendant was alleged to have assaulted his partner and stolen her gold jewellery, which was found in his pocket 20 minutes after the incident. He produced receipts at trial to show he had bought the jewellery – but the receipts post-dated the offence by 3 months.
– R v NS [2024]. Reading Crown Court
Prosecuted a Defendant who was seen to discard a kitchen knife whilst running to his car. Moments before, he had witnessed his brother being shot. He ran self-defence and defence of another at trial, but had changed his account several times.
– R v MP [2024, Luton Crown Court
Prosecuted a trial of the actus reus where the Defendant, who had been found unfit to plead, had smuggled cannabis and mobile phones into prison.
– R v NB [2024], Reading Crown Court
Prosecuted a robbery trial for a Facebook Marketplace sale gone wrong. The Defendant advertised a phone for sale and instructed the victim to meet him at a block of flats, where he demanded the victim to pay before seeing the phone. Upon refusal, he beat the victim and kicked him down the stairs.
– R v AS [2024], Inner London Crown Court
Prosecuted a Defendant who was charged with a racially aggravated s.4 public order offence. He admitted to spitting and throwing rocks at the victim, a ticket inspector, and to calling him a racial slur – but denied knowing the word was racist.
– R v BH [2024], Central Criminal Court
Prosecuted an allegation of racially aggravated assault at the Central Criminal Court.
– R v JF [2024], St Albans Crown Court
