Archie Manby secures acquittal after 3-week trial
Archie Manby instructed by Katie McFadden of Hodge Jones & Allen secures acquittal for young defendant in 3 week conspiracy to rob trial at Croydon Crown Court. The case involved more than £200,000 worth of phones being stolen from Apple stores on 18 different occasions. Archie and counsel for D1 successfully argued for the exclusion of two co-defendant’s pleas to conspiracy to rob. Through careful cross-examination of the officer in the case on the CCTV footage, he was able to show that although there was violence used on a number of occasions, the behaviour of the defendants did not suggest an agreement to use or threaten violence in order to steal (R v B).
